From the very first time I ever visited the southwestern United States, I was enchanted. It is truly one of God's extravagantly beautiful works of art. The open and untouched landscape reaches up to meet a gently encompassing sky. The red and earthy beige layers of rock are dotted with clumps of sun-beaten prickled vegetation. Wildlife that exists nowhere else on Earth challenges my curiosity and restores my sense of wonder. Stars send glittery magical waves of light across the sky. Desert wilderness expands into seemingly infinite ceaseless horizon. It makes me feel a little closer to home. It makes me feel free.
